Write ups for December 2015
Today it was our last game before Christmas. We were playing at Santana our favourite course which as usual was in superb condition. The game today was sponsored by Rob and Lynda Walker. The format was pairs better ball plus individual stableford for points for the Order of Merit. Plus the winner today went forward to the “Champion of Champions Final”
This was going to be a fun day as there was also a prize for the best Christmas costume or hat. There was also rolls and drinks on the 10th tee to keep everyone going The winning team with 45 points was Andy Hassall and Pat Gallet. Second with 43 points was Ian “Aye Say” Ashworth and Denise Davis. It was great to see Denise back playing well. Third with 42 points was Robyn Wheeler and Micky Morris. Nearest the pin in one on hole 16 was Dennis “Oh Mate” Pollock with And Hassall nearest the pin in two on hole 14. The winner of the individual stable game was Pat Gallet with 39 points, Pat also goes though to the CCF. The winner of the best costume and hat went jointly to Lynn Yuill and Norman Tillbrook Once again our thanks to Rob and Lynda for some great prizes Well done to all our winner |

Mijas - Las Largos 10th December 2015
Today was individual stableford points sponsored Peter & Pauline Bull. A good golfing day, a little over cast, a little chiller than we would like. The course was in great condition, greens where very good! Todays winner was Simon Waby with 38 points off 8.6 cut to 7.2. Second was Robyn Wheeler with 34 points off 28 cut to 27.5. Third was Des Hamilton with 30 off 10.8 cut to 10.5. Nearest the pin in one was Dave Hemmingway, nearest in one was Richard "Bomber" Zuhlke. Another good afternoon in the Red Dragon, thanks to Peter for the prizes. Well done to the winners. La Cala - Asia December 3rd 2015
Today was individual stableford points sponsored by Mike Boxall. Another great day for golf, no wind, no rain a few clouds! The course was in very good condition, today was a shotgun start. Todays winner was Jerry "star" Halford with 36 points off 9.7 cut to 8.5. Second was Uta Wenborn also with 36 points but a slightly worse back nine off 32.3 cut to 31.2. Third also with 36 points but a worse back nine than Uta was Andy "marigold" Hassall off 15.8 cut to 15.1. Nearest the pin in one with a great shot was Lynn Yuill, nearest the pin in two was Donald Mackenzie. The Red Dragon was still under siege with roadworks, with a great turnout the bar was packed. Today was our sponsors 70th birthday, most can't believe Boxy is 70, but it must be true the badge said so. A fantastic afternoon was had by all, some great cake as well. Well done to all our winners, a big thanks to Mike for the prizes. Next week we are at Mijas Las Largos another great course. See you all there. |
