Santana 20th December 2018
Today's game at the Santana was for individual stableford and was sponsored by Peter McDonald And Pat O Connor. As it was our last game before the Christmas break there was an added prize for the best Christmas Outfit. I am pleased to say that everyone made the effort and there was some great outfits. With the weather and the course in its usual superb condition it turned into a great fun day of golf. Our winner toady with 36 points playing off 21.8 cut to 19.6 was Lynda Walker. Second with 36 points playing off 22 cut to 20.9 was Ian "Aye Say" Ashworth. Third with 33 points playing of 1.6 cut to 1.3 was Kevin Davies. Nearest the pin in One on hole 16 was Callum Foran with Ian Ashworth nearest the pin in on hole 14. Our best Christmas Costumes went to Lynn Yuill and Alan Shankland. Today's game at the Calanova was for individual stableford and was sponsored by Larry Byrne. The weather first the first 6 tee times was horrendous. it was blowing a gale and raining cats and dogs. Although I am pleased to say the weather abated and it turned into a beautiful sunny day day. That is for those of us who tee'd off later. Our winner today playing off a handicap of 28, yes 28, with 36 points was that genial Irishman Bobby Curran cut by 1.6 to 26.4. Second with 35 points playing off 20 was that return of an old member Kenny Bradshaw cut by .8 to 19.4. Third with 35 points playing off 15.6 was Catherine Shiels cut to 15.3. Nearest the pin in one on hole 8 was Sean Fenton with Gary Sparrow nearest in two on hole 12. Our thanks to Larry For the great prizes. La Cala - Europa 6th December 2018
Today's game at the La Cala - Europa was for individual stableford and was sponsored by Sean Fenton. With the course in great condition it was another perfect day for golf . Our winner today scoring a magnificent 41 points, on a very difficult course, playing off 18.2 cut to 15.6 was Catherine Hill. Second, also with a magnificent score of 39 points playing off 23.7 cut to 21.7 was Lynda Walker. Third with 34 points playing off 19.4 cut to 19.1 was tony Sidebottom. Our guest prize was won by Kenny Bradshaw. Nearest the pin in one on hole 9 was Gary Sparrow and nearest the pin in two on hole 18(it was meant to be 12 but Bob forgot) was himself Bob Sawyer. |
