Mijas - Los Olivos 29th December 2022
This week we played our final round of 2022 at Mijas Golf, Los Olivos. The day was sponsored by Luis Bernal.
The course was as tricky as ever with tight fairways and fast greens. The weather was absolutely superb with 20 degrees and no wind.
After a tough day on the course we took all our excuses back to the Red Dragon.
Results from Mijas
1st place was Ray Critcher with 34 pts playing off 12.2 now 11.9
2nd Place was Luis Bernal with 33 pts, but with the best back nine, playing off 7.
3rd place was Larry Byrne with 33 pts again, playing off 20.
Nearest the pin in one was Pat O'Conner.
Nearest the pin in two was Bob Sawyer.
Our Guest prizes went to our new Danish Friend Kenneth Normann with 29 pts playing off 5.
We also presented Luis with the 2022 OOM prize, well done Luis.
Next week we wipe the slate clean and start a new season for 2023, we can all have another go at winning the OOM. A new Handicap system is in place, so look out for that in the new year.
Next week we are at Santana Golf, we are almost full if you want to place hurry and let us know!

Santana Golf 22nd December 2022
Thursday we played our last game before Xmas at Santana, the day was sponsored by Don Crowley, after last weeks rain it was completely different this week with Temperatures in the low 20's and glorious blue skies.
The presentation took place up at Santana and we also presented the trophies for the year for the various competitions that took place.

Parador Golf 15th December 2022
This week we played Parador Golf, the weather did its best to have our day cancelled out with rain for the last few days and fairly heavy rain through the night! Rain stopped at nine, leaving the course to wet for buggies.
That meant we had a fair amount of people cancel, that left us with a few brave (stupid) guys go to battle with the course, not those brave guys made it all the way round. One four ball let the course win and left after 9 holes.
That left just 7 of us on the course, we enjoyed and day and it was nice to walk for a change. With only 7 players left we decided it wasn't right to do a presentation or give out prizes.
Our winner with 32 points would have been Mike Milner, although he didn't get a prize we have still cut him.
Next week is Santana Golf, let us know quickly if you wish to play!

Last week we played Santa Clara, the day was sponsored by Mike Milner.
The weather has turned, we have had a few days of rain and we weren't if we would get to play. Fortunately apart from a couple of very short showers, we managed an almost rain free day!
The course held up well, it is the first time in a few years we have been to Santa Clara, we all enjoyed it and I am sure we will be back.

Mijas - Las Largos 1st December 2022
This week we played at Mijas Los Lagos and was the Champion of Champions final for those who had qualified and a separate Stableford comp for everyone else. We were kindly sponsored by Ian McCarthy.
For the first time in 7 months we had to get our warm golf clothing out and even had to get some waterproofs out as for the first couple of holes it was actually raining which was a shock to all but very welcome for the golf courses as they are bone dry.
