Parador - 29th June 2017
Today’s game at the Parador was for individual stableford and was sponsored by Bob and Sandra Brown. It was also our end of month competition with the winner going forward to the "Champion of Champions" final. With a nice breeze blowing and the course in its usual superb condition it was a great day for playing. Our winner today with 37 points playing off 17.7 cut to 16.1 was Patrique Gallet. Second with 34 points playing of 25.3 cut to 24.8 was Carl Proctor. Third also with 34 points but with a worse back nine playing of 22.2 cut 21.9 was Lynn Yuill. Nearest the pin in one on hole 13 was Mags Jones with Lynn Yuill nearest the pin in two on hole 3. The guest prize was won by Alan Ryan. Our thanks to Bob and Sandra for the super prizes. Today’s game at Lauro was for individual stableford and as she will be celebrating a very important birthday on the following Tuesday it was sponsored by the lovely Sue Cobb. Today we played holes 1 to 18. Summer has arrived with a vengeance, it was extremely hot, but with the course in superb condition it made for some very high scores. First with a fantastic score of 42 points playing off 17 cut to 14.4 was Dave Rogers. Second with 40 points playing off 11.7 cut to 9.4 was Bob Brown. Third with 39 points playing of 25.6 cut to 23.8 was Mags Jones. The Guests prize was won by Patricia Cavner. Nearest pin in one on hole 2 was Ray Critcher with Bob Sawyer nearest the pin in two on hole 8. Well done to Sue for the great prizes and have a super ..th birthday. Mijas - Los Lagos - 15th June 2017 Today’s game at Mijas Los Lagos was for individual stableford and was sponsored by Des Hamilton. It was also our version of the US Open. This was the first time we had played on Los Lagos since the disastrous floods in in the spring. Well done to the staff the course was in a great condition. The course proved difficult for most as there were no high scores today. Our winner with 36 points playing off 29.9 cut to 28.3 was Shan Ashcroft. Second with 34 points playing off 23.1 cut to 22.6 was Peter Mc Donald. Third also with 34 points but with a worse back nine playing off 6.7 cut to 6.4 was Jim Madden. Nearest the pin in one on hole 16 was Phil Ashcroft with Bob Sawyer nearest the pin in two on hole 3. Thanks to Des for the great prizes. Santana - 8th June 2017 Today’s game at Santana was for individual stableford and was sponsored by Alan Shankland. It was also the final of our "Knock out Competition" and The "Champion of Champions". The course was in its normal superb condition this was evident with the high scores making for many handicap cuts. First with a score of 38 points playing off 11.1 cut by 1.4 to 9.7 was Des Hamilton. Second, one of many with 37 points but with the best back nine playing of 22.9 cut by 1.4 to 21.5 was Sally Davies, Sally was also our "Champion of Champions" winner. Third also with 37 points playing off a dodgy 28 cut by 1.2 to 26.8 was Denis "The Elder" Pollock. Nearest the pin in one on hole 16 was Sally Davies with Jerry Halford nearest the pin in two on hole 14. The "Knock out Final" was won by Sue Cobb beating Andy Pritchard in an exciting final. Another great day with super prizes rounded off with a few drinks at the Red Dragon. Well done to all our winners. Mijas Los Olivos - 1st June 2017 Today’s game at Mijas Los Olivos was for individual stableford and was sponsored by Darrell Wallis. This was our first game of the new season so there was everything to play for. With the sun shining and the course in good condition we thought there would be some very good scores. However surprisingly this was not the case. First with a score of 35 points playing off 19.9 cut to 18.7, and still waiting for his new society shirt, was Vincent Robinson. Second with 31 points playing off 2.5 cut to 2 was John Davis. Third on count back with 29 points playing off 20 cut 19.7 was Ian "Aye Say" Ashworth. The guest prize was won by Steve Falconer. Nearest the pin in one on hole 16 was Bob Sawyer with Kevin Summers nearest the pin in two on hole 11. Our thanks to Darrell for the great prizes. |
