Lauro 27th June 2019
For today's game at Lauro we played holes one to eighteen and was for individual stableford. It was also our "End of Month" with the winner going forward to the "Champion of Champions" Final. Today was kindly sponsored by Ray Critcher. I have to say the course was in first class condition and despite the heat everyone enjoyed the day. Our winner with 34 points playing off 14.5 cut to 13.5 was Pat O Connor. Second with 30 points playing off 6.3 cut to 5.8 was our sponsor Ray Critcher. Third also with 30 points but with a worse back nine playing off 15.8 cut 15.5 was Mike Milner. Our guest prize was won by John Maher. Nearest the pin one one hole 2 was Mike Milner with John Maher nearest the pin in two on hole 10. The Parador 20th June 2019
Today's game at The Parador was for individual stableford and was kindly sponsored by Bob Brown. The course was in its usual first class condition and whilst it was very hot a strong sea breeze helped to keep us cool but unfortunately, it did not help our our golf. Our winner today with 37 points playing off 12.9 cut to 11.6 was that man from down under again Tony White. Second with 34 points playing off 11.2 cut to 10.7 was Iain Hardiker and third playing off 12.1 cut to 11.8 was Norman Tillbrook. Our gust prize was won by Frank Caldwell. Nearest the pin in one on hole 13 was our guest Frank Caldwell. Nearest the pin in two on hole 3 was that man again Tony White Santana 13th June 2019
Today's game at Santana was for individual stableford and was kindly sponsored by Paul "Blodwyn" Barrett. Not only was it our "Champion of Champions" final it was also the Torreblanca Open so there was silverware to be won. The course was in its usual great condition but unusually the green were quite slow. Our winner today and the winner of the Torreblanca Open with a magnificent score of 40 points playing of 26.4 cut to 23.6 was Shan Ashcroft. Second with 36 points playing of 11.3 cut to 10.6 was Andy "Marigold" Hassall and third with 35 points playing off 13.4 cut to 12.9 was Tony White. Our guest prize was won by Bob Jackson. Nearest the pin in one on hole 16 was won by Tony White with Simon Waby nearest the pin in two on hole 14. The winner of the "Champion of Champions" final was Lynn Yuill with 35 points. Mijas 6th June 2019 Today's game was at Mijas was played at Los Lagos. It was for individual stableford and was kindly sponsored by Stewart Gurney and Pat Geraghty. It was also our first game of the new season so, the slate was wiped clean, that meant there was now every thing to play for to obtain the "Order of Merit" points. The course was in superb condition, however it was also playing long which made it very difficult. But despite that it was a very enjoyable day. First today with 35 points playing off 17.8 cut to 16.6 was Mike "Boxy" Boxall. Second with 32 points playing off 27.6 cut to 27.1 was Gayle Laybourn. Third also with 32 points but with a worse back nine playing off 17 cut to 16.7 was Don Crowley. Our Guest prize was won by Darren Winter. Nearest the pin in one for the Ladies on hole 2 was won by Jan Dodd. Nearest the pin one on hole 16 for Men was won by Gary Sparrow. Nearest the pin in two on hole 3 was won by Grant Malcolm. It was also the final of our "Knock Out Competition" between Paul Winter and Kenny Bradshaw. What a final it turned out to be. They were all square after 18 holes. It took three more holes for Kenny to be finally declared the winner. Today we also celebrated a very special birthday for a very special person. It was the 65th birthday of Trish Hassall landlady of our home bar the Red Dragon. She is also the ling suffering wife of Any "marigold" Hassall. |
