Today's game at Santana the Jack Wilson Memorial Day and was a Texas Scramble, playing for the Jack Wilson Trophy. At last the weather was kind to us so on a warm and sunny day with the course in its usual superb condition it was going to be a great day. Our winners today with a score 56.9 was the team of Tim Hemming, Tony Sidebottom and Tim's two young sons Timmy and Zac Hemming. Second with a score of 61.1 was the team off Mark Mathews, Des Connolly, Ray Critcher and Paul Winter. Third with a score of 63.8 was the team off Denis Pollock, Mike Boxall, Tony Carter and Stephen Cole. Nearest the pin in one on hole 2 was Paul Winter, on hole 7 was Stephen Cole, on hole 12 was Tim Hemming and hole 16 was Mags Jones. Today's game at Baviera was for individual stableford and was sponsored by Tony Sidebottom. It was also our end of month competition with the winner going forward to the "Champion of Champions" final. This time we traveled the other side of Malaga to play. Whilst the course was, despite the recent heavy rain, in good conditions the weather unfortunately was not. It was blowing a gale. So as you would would expect with the very strong winds there were some pretty low scores, not to mention many lost balls. Our Winner today with a score off 30 points playing off 20.6 cut to 19.6 was Howard Ablett. Second with a score of 28 points playing of 4.2 cut to 3.7 was Jerry Halford. Third with a score of 25 points playing of 27.3 cut to 27 was Paul Winter. Our Guest prize was won by Catherine Hills. Nearest the pin in one on hole 10 was Ray Critcher. The was no winner for nearest the pin in two as no one made the green. There was also prizes for the best two ladies. The winner with 23 points was Sue Cobb with Ruth Thompson second with 19 points. The team prize went to Jerry Halford, Tony Sidebottom and Terry Smith. Thanks to Tony for the great and varied prizes. Calanova 8th March 2018
Today's game at Calanova was for individual stableford and was sponsored by our home bar the Red Dragon. It was also our "Passed Members Day" when remember all of our members who have sadly passed away. Unfortunately the bad weather continued so it was a wet and windy day for us today. The winner with 34 points playing off 13.5 cut to 12.5 was Pat Gallet. Second with a score of 33 points playing off 12.3 cut to 11.8 was our amiable landlord of the Red Dragon the one and only Andy "Marigold" Hassall. Third with a score of 25 playing of 27.6 cut to 27.3 was Paul Winter. Nearest the pin in one on a par 3 was Dennis Regan with Bob Sawyer nearest the pin in two on a par 4. It was back to the Red Dragon for a hot meal and to dry off. Thanks to Andy for the great prizes. |
