May 2017
El Cabopino - 25th May 2017
Today’s game at Cabopino was for individual stableford and was sponsored by John Allan. This was our last game of the season so it was the last chance to gain points for the "Order of Merit" and to take the last place in our "Champion of Champions" final. Well I'm told it was very difficult out there today with the pin positions in very difficult positions. This as you will see was reflected in the scores. Our winner today and going foreword to the "Champion of Champions" final with 28 points, yes 28 points, playing off 13.8 cut to 12.8 was Eugene Kerr. Second with 27 points playing off 9.9 cut to 9.4 was Robert Lawless. Third also with 27 points, but with a worse back nine, playing off 13.8 cut to 12.1 was Andy Hassall. Andy also won our "Order of Merit" as the most consistent player this season. Nearest the pin in one on hole 13 was Andy Hassall with Vincent Robinson nearest the pin in two on hole 4. Thanks to John for the great prizes. El Higueral - 18th May 2017

The Parador - 11th May 2017 Today’s game at The Parador was for individual stableford and was sponsored by Eugene and Niamh Kerr. It was still quite chilly for the time of year but luckily the sun managed to come out in the afternoon. The course played long today but it was in good condition. Today’s game at Santana was for individual stableford and was sponsored by Patrique Gallet. The course was in its usual superb condition and this was reflected in the very high scores today. It would have been a good day for Micky G to weald his axe as there were many cuts to members handicaps. First with a fantastic score of 42 points playing off 16 cut to 13.4 was that amiable Welshman Alun Short. Second, with a score of 40 points, that would have won on most days, playing off 12 cut to 10.9 was John Allan. Third with 39 points playing off 11.5 cut to 10.7 was Phil Ashcroft. Nearest the pin in one on hole 16 was Tony Byrne with Ray Critcher nearest the pin in two on hole 14. The guest prize was won by Dave Triptree. Once again thanks to Pat for sponsoring the day and the superb prizes. |
