Santana 29th November 2018
Today's game at the Santana was for individual stableford and was sponsored by Robyn Wheeler. It was also our last game of the month with the winner going forward to the "Champion of Champions" final. Another perfect day for golf . Our winner today scoring a magnificent 39 points playing off 21.9 cut to 19.4 was Tony Sidebottom. Second with a score of 37 points playing off 11.7 cut to 10.9 was the amiable landlord himself Andy Hassall and third playing off 13.8 cut to 13.4 was Pat O Conner. The guest prize was won by Colin Heap. Nearest the pin in One on hole 16 was Maria Venn with Bob Sawyer nearest the pin in two on hole 14. Lauro 22nd November 2018 Today's game at the Lauro was for individual stableford and was sponsored by Phil and Jan Dodd. Today we were playing holes 1 to 18. Another overcast day with the threat of rain, which unfortunately materialized later in the afternoon. Despite this a fair number of us decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed the course, despite the recent heavy rain was in good condition. Our winner today with 33 points playing off 17.7 cut to 16.7 was Phil Ginn. Second with a score of 32 points playing off 3.6 cut to 3.1 was Bob Sawyer. Third also with 32 points but with a worse back nine playing off 10.3 cut 10 was Gary Sparrow. Nearest the pin in one on hole 2 was Lynn Yuill with Phil Dodd nearest the pin in two on hole 10. Thanks to Phil and Jan for the great prizes. Parador 15th November 2018
Today's game at the Parador was for individual stableford and was the Red Dragon Golf day sponsored by Jamie Watkins. The weather was overcast and threatening rain, i'm pleased to say it turned into quite a warm and sunny day perfect for golf. Despite the recent heavy rain the course was in super condition. Our winner today, winning the Red Dragon Trophy, with a score of 37 points playing off 7.6 cut to 6.3 was that man again Ray Critcher. Second with a score of 36 points playing off 4.3 cut to 3.6 was Bob Sawyer. Third with a score of 34 points playing off 12 cut to 11.7 was our amiable landlord Andy "marigold" Hassall. Our guest prize with a magnificence score of 39 points playing as a guest for the last time as he is now a full member of the society Phil Ginn. Nearest the pin in one on hole 13 was Tony White with Ray Critcher nearest the pin in two on hole 3. After the prize giving there was a raffle in aid of the "Last Chance Animal Shelter" with the magnificent prizes being supplied by Jamie Watkins. Well done to everyone there today the raffle raised just over 500€. Calanova 8th November 2018
Today's game at Calanova was for individual stableford and was sponsored by Rob and Lynda Walker. The weather was warm and sunny, luckily the rain held off until we finished. The course in good condition so we thought there would be high score, but apart from the winners the course proved quite difficult for the majority of us. Our winner today with a score of 37 points playing off 14.6 cut to 13 was our new member John Walter, John has been playing as a guest with us for some time so at last he decided to join. Second with a score of 35 playing of 11.1 cut to 10.5 was Phil Ashcroft. Third also with 35 points but with a worse back nine playing off 10.9 cut to 9.8 was was Dave Robertson. Nearest the pin in one on hole 8 was Phil Ashcroft with Alan Shankland nearest the pin in two on hole 12. Once again thanks to Rob and Lynda for the great prizes. Miraflores 1st November 2018
Today we played at Miraflores with the format being a Texas Scramble. The day was kindly sponsored by Denis "The Elder" Pollock and was his last game with us for some time as he will be back in the UK until January. As is normal with a Texas scramble it was a fun day with some very good scores. First today with a score of 58.8 was the team of Bob Sawyer, Tim Hemming and Tim's two young sons Timmy and Zac. Second with a score of 59.5 was the team of Andrew Dodd, Tony Butler and Phil Ginn. Third with a score of 62.1 was the team of Paul Winter, Norman Tillbrook David "happy feet" ball and Paul Barrett. Nearest the pin in one on hole 11 was Kirsten Hardacre with Bob Sawyer nearest on hole 15. There was a special prize today for the longest drive. This went to Tony Carter who went to Marbella golf club until he noticed no one was there. Good one Tony. Thanks to Denis for the super prizes. |
