Santana Golf 27th October 2022
Last Thursday we played at our home course Santana on a glorious Autumn day with temperatures hitting the high 20's and was very kindly sponsored by Norman Tillbrook.
The format was everybody's favourite of medal and was the last qualifier to get into the final at Santana on November 24th with both the gross and net winner going through.
There was some great scores in both the gross and net comp with the 3 I played with battling it out till the very last hole.
Special mention to Bob Sawyer who agonisingly came within 1 shot of shooting his age which would of been a remarkable achievement.
Norman our sponsor kindly brought some extra prizes along for the presentation, which was held up at Santana on the terrace afterwards with also the restaurant very kindly donating a prize too. With the extra prizes there were a couple of fun prizes handed out .

Miraflores 20th October 2022
This week we played at Miraflores golf club and was kindly sponsored by Dermot Carolan.
A good turn out of 27 players which included a few new guests and some returning ex members who had not been since pre pandemic which was good to see.
After what seemed an age to drive to the course due to heavy traffic After an accident on the road it was all a bit rushed for some.
Afterwards up on the terrace there was a good atmosphere as most people had stopped for a cheeky one, however a strange request was being asked to us all about a Callaway golf ball and if anyone had lost one, this turned out to be because there was a Callaway ball lying on the backseat of John Yuills car as a stray one from the 10th tee had found its way through the back windscreen of his car , I'm assured that there was no need to put the aircon on in his car on the way back home.
When the cards had been checked the top 3 all had great scores with the winner having a magnificent round, don't worry his handicap cut has reflected it.

Thursday we played at Anoreta golf club on a glorious warm October day where temperatures were still in the mid 20's.
The course was as tight and as tricky as ever with some fast greens making it a good challenge for everyone.

This week we played on Wednesday, yes you read that right, we played Lauro,holes 19 to 9, the day was sponsored by John Yuill.
The scores were again close this week with only 1 point between the top 3.
