Today's game at Guadalhorce was sponsored by Leon Dore. The format was for individual stableford. With the course and the weather perfect for golf what more could you ask for. A great score, and that is exactly happened to our winner. With a superb score of 39 points playing off 18.9 cut to 16.4 was Kay England. Second with a score of 36 points playing off 18.4 cut to 17.5 was Larry Byrne. Third with a score of 33 points playing off 12.2 cut to 11.9 was Gary Sparrow. There was also a prize for the best lady. This went to Felicity Broomby with 31 points. Nearest the pin in one on hole 2 and nearest the pin in two on hole 14 was won by Der Carolan. Our thanks to Leon for the poem and the great prizes. Today's game at Santana was sponsored by Colin "Badger" Bryan. The format was for individual stableford. It was our first game after the South's magnificent win in our Ryder Cup. It was a very hot and humid day, but as usual the course was in superb condition. This was reflected by the scores. Our winner to day with a massive 44 points playing off 15.6 cut to 12.6 was Dave Rogers. Second also with a great score of 40 points playing off 16.7 cut to 15 was Paul Barrett. Third also with 40 points but with a worse back nine playing off 11.6 cut to 11.3 was Phil Dodd. Our guest prize was won by Amy Shanahan. Today's game was at Mijas and was sponsored by Ian Lumb. The format was for individual stableford. It was our last game before our Ryder Cup so everyone was out to hone their skills. Our winner today with 36 points playing off 12.9 cut to 11.5 was the amiable land lord of the Red Dragon Any "Marigold" Hassall. Second with a score of 34 points playing off 14.4 cut to 13.9 was the northern Ryder Cup Captain Catherine Shiels. Third with 33 points playing off 13.1 cut to 12.8 was Jamie Farrow.
