September 2019
Miraflores 26th September 2019
Today we played at at Santana and was kindly sponsored by Robyn Wheeler. It was for individual stableford and was also our end of month competition with the winner going forward to the "Champion of Champions" final in June. Robyn who despite not looking any older was celebrating his 76 birthday.. I can say that as I write the article. Despite the problems with the first green and the sanding of the others everyone had a great day, including Bobby Curran who decided to get his buggy stuck coming off the fairway not once but twice. Our winner today with 35 points playing off 20.6 cut to 19.3 was the big man himself Roy Sherratt. Second with 34 points playing off 12.9 cut to 12.4 was Stewart Gurney. Third also with 34 points but with a worse back nine playing off 16.2 cut to 15.9 was Ian Cameron. Our guest prize was won by Robert Greaves with 27 points. Nearest the pin in one on hole 13 was Bob Sawyer with Tony White nearest the pin in two on hole 10. The day was rounded off with a celebration birthday cake supplied by Trish at the Red Dragon.
